We spotted our first real Australian wildlife today. It was a half day again so we drove up into the Blue Mountains and went for a little walk down to the Jelly-Bean pool. During our trip we saw a snake slither across the path, tail of some poor lizard sticking out of its greedy little mouth. Once at the pool we saw across to sun bathe on the enormous boulder. That rock was also home to possibly the biggest spider I have ever laid my eyes upon. Bigger than my fist, it was.
After cooling down at the Jelly-Bean pool, we went Kangaroo hunting. We were absolutely determined to find those bouncing marsupials. After discovering many other animals including a very, very large lizard (it looked like a Komodo Dragon), kookaburra, and cockatoos, we finally found the kangaroos hiding amongst the picnic tables. They were a site to see. They hopped around on their legs and when not, hoping, they used their leg as a single unit and their tail as a leg. One of the roos even had a little joey in its pouch. It was a satisfying end to a seemingly hopeless search.
We race the Oceania Open this weekend. You can find live results here.

Look, look harder, see it now?

Big as my fist I tell you!
