Started off in Calgary this morning, but after a pleasant flight, I have safely landed in Denver. My airport experience wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be. No trouble getting my boat on the plane at all. Going through the customs line was hell though. I swear they made the curves tighter right before I got there. I’m sure it was a pretty funny sight, seeing me struggling through the line with all my luggage, at least until I figured out that I could just push my boat straight through to the front and then wait in line. I felt like a bit of a dork, but what can you do? At the terminal, they had a big glass wall dividing the room in two. On the other side, I happened to spy a Jugo Juice, breakfast. Alas, there was no way for me to make it to the other side, thus no fruity deliciousness for me. I ended up having an overpriced airport sandwich and water. Quite enjoyable…
Watching my boat get unloaded from the plane was cool. At least until I realized that my bag was open and its contents were scattered everywhere. Luckily, I managed not to lose anything. And in the future, I will be taping that bag very carefully. Tonight I join up with the rest of the group and tomorrow we depart for Washington, London and finally Nairobi.
